Our Approach

At CCS, our work is guided by a simple, trauma-informed sequence: Regulate, Relate, Reason, inspired by the work of Dr. Bruce Perry. When life feels overwhelming, it’s hard to think clearly or make changes. That’s why we start by meeting people where they are.

Regulate: We begin by helping clients calm the body and mind, so they feel safe and settled enough to engage.
Relate: We build a warm, supportive relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and cared for.
Reason: Together, we explore challenges, make sense of what’s happening, and develop healthier responses and patterns.each other.

This approach shapes everything we do, from individual and family therapy to our parenting programs. It also guides how our team supports one another, because we believe the care we offer clients starts with the care we offer each other.
